Scope Note & Regulatory Context
ASTM F1487 covers public-use playground equipment for ages 2-12 and explicitly does not apply to soft contained play equipment. A supplier quoting F1487 against a netted structure has quoted the wrong document.
ASTM F1918 is the correct standard for soft contained play equipment. ASTM F2373 covers play equipment for 6-23 months.
