What the checker subtracts

The sprinkler path subtracts the measured drop, the clearance you entered and the design buffer. The 450 mm default is only a preliminary reference from 29 CFR 1910.159(c)(10), whose 18-inch rule is written for material below sprinklers within its scope; OSHA’s interpretation says lights, ducts, decks and other obstructions follow varied sprinkler-design rules.

Replace the default with the clearance set by the fire-protection design and local authority before signing a lease or freezing a layout. This checker does not replace a sprinkler, fire or building-code review.
