Why the threshold answer has two readings
Adopted editions of the model building code word the size trigger differently. Some read that the section applies where a play structure exceeds ten feet in height or occupies more than 150 square feet; others read and. A project sitting close to that line lands in a different place depending on which edition your jurisdiction adopted.

What this planner does not decide
- It does no code interpretation. It reports which side of the published figures your two numbers fall on, and says so plainly when the answer depends on the adopted edition.
- It assumes no ceiling-height minimum and no service reserve. Both come from your own drawings, because the right reserve is a services question, not an equipment one.
- Clearance from walls, partitions and means of egress, and any area cap, are separate questions for your reviewer.
